Biography

James W. Brodsky, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon who sees patients in Dallas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle arthritis, ankle replacement, sports injuries, deformities, fractures and complex reconstructive foot and ankle conditions. His expertise includes total ankle replacement, foot and ankle reconstruction, deformity correction, fracture care and advanced surgical treatment for both routine and complex foot and ankle disorders.

Dr. Brodsky has dedicated nearly four decades to caring for patients throughout North Texas and is recognized internationally as a leader in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery. His goal is to help patients relieve pain, restore mobility and return to the activities they enjoy through personalized treatment plans and the latest surgical techniques.

A graduate of Harvard University, Dr. Brodsky returned to Texas following his medical training and has spent his career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He helped build one of the nation's premier foot and ankle programs and led the Foot and Ankle Section at Orthopedic Associates of Dallas, which has grown into a nationally recognized team of fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialists.

Dr. Brodsky's leadership extends beyond clinical care. He is a past President of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) and was elected to the prestigious American Orthopaedic Association in recognition of his contributions to orthopedic surgery. In 2021, AOFAS honored him as a Pillar of the Society, recognizing his lifetime achievements as a surgeon, teacher and leader. He was also awarded the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus Award from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

An internationally respected educator and lecturer, Dr. Brodsky has served as a visiting professor and invited speaker throughout the United States and around the world. He has been named a Texas Monthly Texas Super Doctor for more than 10 years and holds a place in the publication's Hall of Fame.
